SPOILER ALERT: If you haven’t read Reboot yet, don’t read this review! My review for book 1 can be found HERE.
Rebel picks up right where Reboot left off, and Callum and Wren have escaped the Republic of Texas. When they finally arrive at the fabled Reboot Reservation, they find a whole city full of Reboot escapees led by Micah 163, who is about as powerful or more powerful than Wren. Very soon, though, the Reboots realize that the Reservation’s ultimate goal is to kill off the humans. She and Callum have different views, and must find a way to stop the humans and the Reservation…before it’s too late. The action-packed second and last book in the Reboot duology, Rebel is full of dystopian settings, backstab and romance.
Thoughts:
Reboot was one of my favorite reads two years ago, when I was first discovering YA. I loved the action, setting, plot and everything else. I was so excited to jump into book 2, and I had very high expectations for it. I am happy to say I enjoyed this ending, but not as much as book 1. I loved the setting again; set in the town where I live so that was pretty neat. I love dystopians and it’s hard to find unique ones a lot of the time, but I haven’t read ANYTHING like this series so that made me very happy. Wren is such a bad you-know-what; like really, now, she’d beat Tris in a fight. I love the Wren and Callum relationship, and I think the series ended off pretty strongly. I am so excited for Amy’s new book, Ruined, which is the start of a new trilogy coming 2016. Please pick up Reboot and Rebel and let me know your thoughts!
Other May 2014 books I read:
I read Reboot a while ago and Rebel has been on my TBR since then! I should read it one day soon!
