Hi everyone! I am here with a new WoW. Check out the books I am waiting for! Oh, and this is my 100th blog post! *cue confetti* YAY!
The Young Elites by Marie Lu
Releasing October 7, 2014 from Putnam BFYR
Summary from Goodreads:
I am tired of being used, hurt, and cast aside.
Adelina Amouteru is a survivor of the blood fever. A decade ago, the deadly illness swept through her nation. Most of the infected perished, while many of the children who survived were left with strange markings. Adelina’s black hair turned silver, her lashes went pale, and now she has only a jagged scar where her left eye once was. Her cruel father believes she is a malfetto, an abomination, ruining their family’s good name and standing in the way of their fortune. But some of the fever’s survivors are rumored to possess more than just scars—they are believed to have mysterious and powerful gifts, and though their identities remain secret, they have come to be called the Young Elites.
Teren Santoro works for the king. As Leader of the Inquisition Axis, it is his job to seek out the Young Elites, to destroy them before they destroy the nation. He believes the Young Elites to be dangerous and vengeful, but it’s Teren who may possess the darkest secret of all.
Enzo Valenciano is a member of the Dagger Society. This secret sect of Young Elites seeks out others like them before the Inquisition Axis can. But when the Daggers find Adelina, they discover someone with powers like they’ve never seen.
Adelina wants to believe Enzo is on her side, and that Teren is the true enemy. But the lives of these three will collide in unexpected ways, as each fights a very different and personal battle. But of one thing they are all certain: Adelina has abilities that shouldn’t belong in this world. A vengeful blackness in her heart. And a desire to destroy all who dare to cross her.
It is my turn to use. My turn to hurt.
Why it’s my WoW:
The Young Elites sounds SO good! It sounds like an awesome fantasy book that I think I will definitely enjoy. I have heard wonderful things about Legend, and I am SO excited to read one of her books! I am also SUPER stoked to meet Marie Lu in the signing line at TTBF 🙂
Timmy Failure: We Meet Again by Stephan Pastis
Releasing October 28, 2014 from Candlewick Press
Summary From Goodreads:
From the New York Times best-selling creator of Timmy Failure comes a third adventure about the comically overconfident sleuth. His name is Failure. Timmy Failure. And his detective agency is on the verge of global domination. Global riches. Global fame. And yet the gods keep throwing him curveballs: for starters, academic probation. The coveted Miracle Report is the key to everything, including a good grade. It’s dirty business. It’s best you know nothing. But one thing is for sure: Timmy Failure will be triumphant again!
Why it is my WoW:
I LOVED the first Timmy book—it was so unique, and funny, and quirky. I have yet to read book 2, but I can not wait to get to the next two and read more about Timmy! I got an ARC of this book at BEA, but it got lost in the mail. I am very sad. I don’t want to wait! 🙂 You can find my review of the first book, Mistakes Were Made, here. I also interviewed the author, Stephan Pastis here.
See you next time!
